Our HIU and high school students have a tremendous experience with many art performances, games, and exhibits of various nations.

International Festival is a playground where students, especially our international students currently enrolling in HIU, can share and explore new cultures and traditions with their neighboring countries. It is also a chance to demonstrate some of the lectures that apply in reality, which help students enrich their experience and build up their confidence for their careers.

HIU students will have abundant opportunities to participate in the preparation of organizing events, extra-curricular activities, and festivals to let them grow and develop soft skills, such as administrative and leadership skills, teamwork spirit, and creative minds through art performances and minigames. Those are astonishing lessons for students when enrolling at HIU.

On March 27th, 2023, Hong Bang International University (HIU) organized a public lecture entitled “A Dynamic Asia in the Changing World,” with the participation of a prominent speaker Dr. Ram Madhave Varanasi – Former National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party. Besides, there is the presence of the following consular representatives in Ho Chi Minh City of the following countries: India, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs.

The seminar is not only an opportunity for professors, lecturers, and HIU students, especially those who currently major in International Relations, will have a chance to meet and discuss with international statesmen the issues among Asian nations. It is also an occasion to enhance some international activities from HIU.

In the opening remark of the seminar, Vice Chancellor – MA Nguyen Ngoc Tuan shared that this public lecture is a seminar to let scholars and students openly discuss ongoing problems, thereby proposing solutions to promote international relationships and enhance awareness among nations to build a dynamic and developed Asia. Additionally, MA Nguyen Ngoc Tuan added, “At HIU, we regularly organize seminars with famous scholars that provide opportunities for professors, lecturers, and students to have a quality environment and aim at international integration.”

Following the speech of Dr. Ram shared, “India established its relations with Vietnam in 1972, and last year, it marked the 50th anniversary. This bilateral relationship is one of long-lasting relations that India developed, and of course, the deserts of this belong to the Vietnamese leadership. In the 21st century the world order needs to negotiate with the substantive imprint of Asian civilization, whose leading role belongs to long-standing countries like India and Vietnam.”

The public lecture organized in enthusiastic atmosphere when HIU students of International Relations confidently asked questions about diplomatic relations between India and China as well as India’s role in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Sharing on the issue, Dr. Ram Madhav Varanasi said that as India plays a vital role in the economic and political market among Asian countries, the wars in Ukraine and Russia also significantly impact on the relevant countries. However, war is an issue that India has never supported, and the leader will have a policy to balance Russia and Ukraine. A country that adheres to discipline, its people are educated, and the cohesion among nations carries the ideology of wanting to redeem world peace.

MA. Phan Do Thuy Dung, Lecturer at HIU shared her opinion while attending the public lecture, “I am very impressed with Dr. Ram’s quote: One formula for the Asia’s success today – it is a law-abiding global protocols, the role of education and the love of peace of nations in the world. The meeting with international politicians will be a valuable opportunity for lecturers and students to acquire new knowledge of the world, especially the politics-diplomacy and the relationships between the two countries. countries.”

With the goal of internationalizing the learning environment, the school regularly organizes international scientific conferences, seminars with famous scholars to meet and discuss with lecturers – school students about social issues, especially during the globalization era. Morever, the University has continuously received a series of international students to enroll at HIU from many parts of the world, such as Russia, India, Honduras, Korea, Japan… Multinationality in the university environment Internationalization helps HIU students have more opportunities and experience and ready to become a civilized citizens for the era of globalization.

President and Chancellor of The University of Queensland – Professor Deborah Terry AO, shared her amazing impression of the HIU welcome ceremony. She introduced the University of Queensland as one of the top Universities with a remarkable history of over 100 years. Professor Deborah Terry AO firmly states objectives in finding partnership opportunities for Vietnamese students to have more chances in student exchange programs worldwide.

HIU Chancellor, Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Pham Van Linh said, “The cooperation between 02 Universities in Education and Research to nurture students, colleagues, professors, and University directors to conduct the objectives of international education integration and developmental strategy of HIU in the future.”

At the conference, both sides discussed several educational fields to cooperate in the future, especially the association in some majors such as Medicine, Odonto – Stomatology, Nursing, Pharmacy, English Digital Marketing, and Supply Chain Management – Logistics. As a result, both sides finally came to certain partnerships:

• Expand the partnerships in International education programs, prioritizing substantial majors at the University of Queensland. 
• Connect to operate specialized workshops for students and professors. 
• Establish student exchange programs for students and professors and provide educational documents and programs about both Universities. 
• Develop scientific research in particular disciplines in that both sides are prioritized. 

Finally, delegations of the University of Queensland and Hong Bang International University administrators handed out souvenirs. In addition, we hope to enhance the collaborations to provide new opportunities for students and declare the powerful bond between universities.

On Saturday, October 15th, HIU formally operated in a grand opening ceremony of the Orthodontic Clinic (HIU Clinic) held by Odonto-Stomatology Deans. HIU Clinic Center officiates at HIU Facility II, located at 120 Hoa Binh Street, Hoa Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, HCM city. This is the first officially licensed clinic established by a private University specializing in the School of Health Sciences. The HIU clinic will be responsible for the healthcare of the community. 

Holistic staff knowledge and experience, utilizing modern techniques. 

Catching the current trend of Odonto-Stomatology, HIU Clinic brought digital technologies to examination and treatment. With financial funding of up to 20 billion Vnd, HIU Clinic supplies sufficient equipment such as Cone Beam CT,  3D Intraoral Scanner, Plasma Arc Curing/Bleaching system, Implant Placement device; Piezotome Tooth Extraction, Orthopedic Electric Drill Machine; Lasik Surgery Machine, Aseptic System – sterilization equipment following  European standard.

With the goal of complete Orthopedic treatment approved by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, 20 clinical chairs, and 52 simulated patients’ phantoms, HIU was able to receive and treat more than hundreds of patients daily. Correspondingly, the treatment process would precisely operate following guidelines, standard European treatment with a quick response, and a secured digital management system.

HIU Clinic has a Medical staff crew, Professors, the Philosophy of Doctors, and Doctors Chief of Orthopedic Specialists. They will directly examine and treat patients and are also responsible for educating HIU students.

HIU Clinic – Mission of the community 

Vice Chancellor – Director of Hong Bang Medical Dental Co., Ltd, Master Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said, “With the mission toward the community, HIU Clinic is a place to operate  volunteer medical examinations and treatments activities, take care of oral heatlh for imporverished situations, spreading out the moral value, nourishing the mercy of HIU students, especially Medical students who responsbile for taking care of health for the people including, orphans, disabled people, the lonely elderly.”

Those are the next episodes in the series of HIU Care that was developed beforehand, treating more than 3,000 High school students in the entire HCM city and suburban area, as well as parishes such as Bien Hoa, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria Vung Tau. Especially students and college students will receive a discount of up to 30% from HIU Clinic.

The International Digital Orthopedic of Science workshop presented the topic “Today and the Future” and included the Q&A section with the Chief of Orthopedic Specialists, especially with the appearance of M.S. of Orthodontist Raamprasath. Pursuing international integration in the University environment, HIU not only concentrates on the academic programs and modern infrastructure, but HIU wants to open more International Health Science workshops ready for practical application in life and enhance education values at HIU.

There are many more Indian students coming to Vietnam and joining Medicine majors. 

H.E. Dr. Madan Modan Sethi had a chance to visit the practice area of the School of Health Science, which included:

• Anatomy labs, Embryonic tissue, and pathology labs.
• Physiology and pathophysiology practice room.
• Biological and medical genetics labs.
• Pre-clinical labs.

In the practice area, the Consul General of India had a chance to meet and greet our Indian students during their lab time. 

He also visited the library, where most books were for everyone and our students in English; it also updated numerous book titles in professional and clinical books.

H.E. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his opinion, “I felt that Hong Bang International University did a better job in attracting international students to join in Medicine major than other Universities in Ho Chi Minh city and Vietnam in general.” 

H.E. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi appreciated the investment in infrastructure and laboratory rooms at HIU and stated that more Indian students would come to Vietnam and HIU to join in Medicine major. Each year, India has approximately 80,000 students who graduated in Medicine major but decided to work overseas, such as in the Philippines, Russia, Pakistan, etc., which became the cause of the shortage of employment. Therefore, he hoped to push forward with better educational programs and memorandum of understanding (MOU) contracts. H.E. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, also the Consul General of India in Vietnam, is willing to support any international connections with medical facilities in India to help in teaching and training to increase the professional knowledge of Indian students. 

He declared, “We will build a remarkable and persistent relationship; thus, I hope to invite your University administrators to visit our medical facilities and Universities in India to understand our training programs and see how to launch appropriately.”

HIU pushes forward to internationalize 

HIU Vice-President, and Associate Professor, Dr. Le Khac Cuong represented HIU to briefly introduce to H.E. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi about our University environment. HIU tries to internationalize education, which resulted in 9-majors training in English, including Medicine and Odonto-Stomatology, belonging to the School of Health Science. In 2022, HIU will have two extra majors: Pharmacy and Nursing in English. Plus, HIU also modified our programs to be fitted with Medicine majors in India and arranged to invite Indian professors to HIU to teach for upper-division majors. 

Recently, HIU continuously has numerous MOU with more than 20 hospitals and medical facilities which, included: Cho Ray Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, Nguyen Trai Hospital, Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, etc., to enhance the internship opportunities for HIU students. Besides, HIU tallied many professors, doctors, and philosophy doctors to promote the School of Health Science. In addition, HIU just launched a Medical and Dental Clinic at Dam Sen center to have a medical institution for the community. Furthermore, for international students, especially Indian students, HIU will provide them with internship opportunities at F.V. hospital and American International Hospital (AIH). Our students have advantages while interning because they will communicate in English, and most medical records, doctors, nurses, and patients are preferred English.

To end the meeting, HIU also embraced the Consul General of India, H.E. Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, a souvenir for an appreciative expression for his visiting and caring with HIU and Indian students.

In the new school year – 2022, HIU will become the target of many genius students in Vietnam and worldwide. Genius Generation – the next generation of HIU is the youngsters with unique elements; HIU will turn into an assembly that plants new seeds for our life.

Danila Lopatchenko from Nushy Penaty, Russia, is opening for the first group of Genius generation at HIU. 

• Cum laude student with the 5.0 GPA
• Fluent in English and understand in 3 other languages: Spanish, Chinese, and Korean.
• A professional gamer participated in some international E-sport tournaments.

Danila shared that he dreamed of studying abroad when he was young; therefore, he always learned non-stoppable to enrich his education. Danila tried looking for lots of University information worldwide, and other Universities also accepted him in Germany, Portland, and China. 

In Russia, many factories and pollutants surround people and health issues, including Danila’s family. Danila also has health problems that make him understand the importance of healthy living, so he decided to attend Medicine major pursuing his dream of becoming an excellent doctor. 

“I chose Vietnam because I felt it’s a quiet and peaceful country, and in Russia, I also have some opportunities to meet and greet some friendly Vietnamese friends. In addition, HIU impressed me with many international festivals, divergent educational programs with international partnerships,   and academic programs in high-caliber English.

Welcome to Board of Directors and all our University administrators, representatives, and professors of faculties, institutes, and departments.

HIU was honored and privileged to welcome Associate Professor, PhD., Dr. Tran Thi Trung Chien, a Former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Minister of Health. They always accompanied our University on every occasion or ceremony. Besides, we welcomed Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Chairman of Nguyen Hoang Education corporation (NHG). In this ceremony, our University also embraced the University’s Chairman’s Board of Directors Professor, Ph.D. Do Manh Cuong; Chancellor Ph.D. Dr. Pham Van Linh; and all our University administrators, representatives, and professors of faculties, institutes, and departments.

What did our University administrators think about our new HIU Vice President. 

Associate Professor, PhD., Dr. Tran Thi Trung Chien emotionally asserted: “I hope our Associate Professor, PhD., Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong will use all doctoral devotion and her compassion to support HIU strongly developing, specializing in Healthcare majors. The Medical Healthcare major is currently struggling and needs strong support from the professors to guide, collaborate and inspire all our colleagues. Accordingly, the young generations of HIU will grow and continue to promote HIU’s Medical Healthcare department to become more mighty and sufficiently contribute their talents to the healthcare community.”

Founder NHG, Mr. Hong Quoc Viet, also expressed a message for our new HIU Vice-President, “One year ago, HIU nominated a Chancellor, Professor, PhD., Dr. Pham Van Linh, who was talented and dedicated. Today we have Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong joined our University administrators, which will increase the development of the School of Health Sciences at HIU. I hope in the new position as Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong will accomplish her new task with other administrators to build a broader vision and strategy for the modern University.

Biography and work experience of our new HIU Vice President 

Beforehand, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong was famous as a “Golden Hand” in Odonto-Stomatology surgery since she is a Chairman of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon organization in Ho Chi Minh city. Earlier, she enrolled in many significant positions: General manager, Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Department in famous hospitals and well-known domestic Universities such as General Manager of Central Dental Hospital HCMC (2006-2013),  Head of Plastic Surgery – Maxillofacial Surgery Department in University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC (UMP) (2013-2019). Currently, besides the position of Associate Dean of HIU Oral and Maxillofacial Department, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong is also a General Manager of My Thien Oral and Maxillofacial Specialist Private Hospital; Vice President of the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association.

Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong is a top maxillofacial plastic surgeon who is dedicated to operating gratis surgeries for countless children with orofacial clefts. With more than 41 years of education experience as a pediatric surgeon in Vietnam, she traveled to over 50 countries to bring back a smile for thousands of children worldwide, collaborating with Operation Smile organization.

Above everything, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong committed wholeheartedly to her career in “planting people,” with all of her passion for educating her students on proficient knowledge, experience, work ethics, and devotion to this occupation. 

Chancellor Ph.D. Dr. Pham Van Linh represented all of our University administrators and congratulated our new Vice President. He stated, “HIU’s reputation will become more assertive domestically and internationally with all the efforts of our University administrators,  representatives, and professors of faculties, institutes, and departments. In the future, there is a series of activities to celebrate the twenty-fifth Birthday of our University, highlighting a memorable milestone of HIU with many expressive events and occasions.”

During the nomination ceremony,  Associate Professor, PhD., Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong stated: “From this moment, beyond the fate of Education for coming generations, my shoulder will have a responsibility for what I have done for the University in the past, present, and the future. I am ambitious to develop a holistic Medical Healthcare department with sincere values, including professionalism, quality, intelligence, and creativity. Hence, I desire to establish a medical team that prioritizes “a good doctor is like an affectionate mother,” and I believe HIU will achieve this goal, a promise is a promise.”

The nomination of a new HIU Vice President Associate Professor, PhD., Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong, who will be responsible for Educating and Training’s Dean, achieved one significant objective. She will work with our staff to prepare for the new HIU orientation, which has profound steps in Medical Healthcare Science. Enhance, her contribution will consolidate our University status and reach the objective of our University to become a top Medical Healthcare Science training division in Vietnam. Remarkably, the occasion of many international students admitted to our Healthcare department in 2022 marked a significant milestone for HIU’s Medical Education in becoming a preferable University for all colleagues around the world.

On July 11, 2022 – Hong Bang International University official step into a new world – a feeling of being an “adult” after walking through 25 years with the Ship of Knowledge which is thriving in the ocean waves. (11/7/1997 – 11/7/2022)

This voyage is a contribution of the entire University administrators and Staff. After many years, Hong Bang Private University puts all of its efforts into the goal of becoming an International University. As a result, HIU is proud to have over 80,000 graduates who were Ph.D., M.A., Specialists, Bachelors, Pharmacist, and Technicians. In addition, HIU has 37 majors that focus on the trend of high-demand occupations and acutely target the School of Health Sciences.

• Double Majors (5 years 2 degrees)

In 2022 – the remarkable year became a tremendous milestone for HIU when we officially offered admissions for the first group of international students were being admitted to our Medical Department. Those international students came from India, Honduras, Nigeria, Russia, etc., and registered at our School of Health Sciences. This means the HIU gradually became a prestigious school that tried to reach a higher rank in the global Study Abroad list. We are currently moving toward the next goal of “Education Export.”

University administrators are committed to working unstoppably to make HIU develop in the future, to become a center for training high-quality employees for our country. From July 11 – December 30, 2022, – there is a series of our 25th Anniversary activities for all professors, Staff, and students to review what we have done. On the other hand, we justify our achievements from the establishing period until now, especially during the “renewal period.” Enhance, we learned from our experience to provide solutions to develop and build HIU in the future.

On the other hand, there are many outstanding activities in development, or an individual has an impressive achievement to grow with our University. At the same time, HIU also operates multiple meetings and conferences to let our professors, Staff, and students meet and greet; it also promotes the connection between professors and students, the passion for working to build the relationship between professors, Staff, and students in 25 years.

This series also launched: Sports, Scientific Conferences, Academic Competitions, meet and greets events to communicate with our Staff – professors- students – alumni students; establish the traditional exhibition room and produce the HIU yearbook for the 25th Birthday. Similarly, our activities at the level of Academic Schools/Institutes/Departments/Centers.

On August 1st, 2022 – The first group of Hong Bang International University (HIU) students and other international students selected to join the 1-4-1 Exchange Student at Hiroshima University, Japan, finally accomplished their program after 4-year. The faculty of Odonto-Stomatology operated the virtual completetion ceremony. HIU organized this virtual ceremony at HIU – Center 2 with the participation of the head of Hiroshima University and other universities such as Indonesia and Cambodia. 

Hiroshima University is a senior and prestigious school with enormous academic training programs. Therefore, to participate in the Exchange Student program in Japan, students must have a connection with Hiroshima University. In Vietnam, HIU is the only private University linked with Hiroshima University to work on the 1-4-1 Exchange Student program (one year in Vietnam, four years in Japan, and the last year back to  Vietnam) and another Exchange Student with 6 HIU students. Hiroshima University will sponsor our nominators for four years, and one excellent student will receive a financial grant each month. 

Head of the Biomaterials Engineering Department and a member of the Board of Operation at Hiroshima University, Professor Kochi Kato, celebrated all international students, “Congratulation to everyone who completed this program, even though there were lots of challenges such as language barrier, and heavy research. I hope you will keep the connection with our University, and we will always welcome you back for other post-graduate programs. Furthermore, I wish you all become significant people in the community who bring knowledge to support our society.”

Top HIU students were awarded this ceremony:

4. Nguyen Nhat Linh (K19 DHE) – Student ID – 191309086 (Completed Six-month program) 

Besides 4 HIU students who received the certificate, there was another Vietnamese student from the University of Medicine & Pharmacy HCMC (UMP) and other students from different Universities, including Cambodia, Indonesia, etc. However, the ceremony was held virtually after COVID-19. Therefore, Hiroshima University operated a simple celebration. Hanh Tien (K-17) represented all international students who received the certificate. Therefore, HIU and other international students will return to our University to finish their senior year before official commencement. 

With full of pride while representing all international students, Phat Minh (K17-HIU) expressed his feelings, “The ceremony today is a new beginning and an important milestone in our student life. Throughout four years, we persistently learned and put effort into pursuing our dreams, achieve another further step in this journey!”

Congratulations to all our students who excellently accomplished the Exchange-Student program in Japan. Let’s wait for another group of HIU students to be selected for the new 1-4-1 Exchange Student program.
